| New Chairman
For Gosport Boro Youth.
Chris Arkell is the new Chairman
of Gosport Borough Youth Football Club. Chris, a lifelong supporter
of Gosport, was Voted in at last nights Youth Committee meeting
to succeed Neil Stewart, who resigned from the post to take up a
new job in London.
Chris, 41 and a qualified
FA coach, takes up the post after a short spell as Vice Chairman
and Manager of the Boro's Under 11's team, who play in the Portsmouth
Glass Youth League. Chris is also FA qualified in training disabled
footballers.
Chris' aspirations are to
ensure that Boro's 300 children continue to enjoy their football
and continue to develop their footballing skills/techniques in association
his excellent team of youth coaches at Privett Park. Chris is also
keen to develop football for the disabled and training for children
under 6 in Gosport using grants recently received from Gosport Voluntary
Action.
Another task for Chris is
to find a sponsor for the children's 300 football jackets, which
are to be ordered in the new year. They would like a local Company
to support the purchase and in return offer sponsorship on the back
of each coat.
Chris Arkell said '' It's
a privilege to be part of the Boro set-up and watch the children
have fun and develop their footballing talents''.
Chris is 41 and works on the
Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. He is married to Elaine and has
4 children. He lives on Cherque Farm, Lee on the Solent. Loves footy
especially watching the Boro and reading wartime poetry.
